Staying Connected

Are you missing meeting up with old friends? Have you had to put a reunion on hold? Try not to feel disheartened, here at the University we want to help you stay connected virtually.

We have four different ways to help you connect.

Link ups

If you are looking to find an old friend from Bristol you have lost contact with, we offer a ‘link-up service’ which means we can pass a message on to them on your behalf, including your contact details (if we hold up-to-date details for them). We have re-kindled many friendships and would be happy to help you. Please do get in touch at alumni@bristol.ac.uk.

Digital reunions

Whatever the reason – an anniversary of your graduation, important milestone for your student society, or just because it’s been ages – we can also help you to co-ordinate a digital event by offering advice and circulating invitations on your behalf. If you have some time to help connect a group of friends as a volunteer, contact alumni-volunteers@bristol.ac.uk for more information.

Bristol Voices

If you are feeling isolated and would benefit from connecting with another member of the Bristol alumni community, we have volunteers on hand who would be happy to have a chat. A shared experience, like your favourite Bristol place or your course, makes it easy to start a conversation. Contact alumni-volunteers@bristol.ac.uk to be linked with one of our Bristol Voices volunteers.

Online platforms

During these unusual times it is more important than ever to stay in contact with friends and family and this can be done through many online platforms, such as Zoom, WhatsApp and Facebook. We also asked our colleagues for advice on the best games to add another dimension to your group chat – Board Game Arena, Kahoot and Skribbl came out on top!

The University also has its own alumni platform, Bristol Connects.

Connect with your global alumni community to gain insights, share professional experience, find old friends and make new connections. Find out more and create your own alumni profile here.

Get in touch

If you have already benefited from socialising with Bristol friends online, please do let us know. We would love to hear how you get on and encourage everyone in the community to stay well connected.

Stay safe and look after yourselves!
